- 1 καὶ ἐβόησεν ἀνὴρ Εφραιμ καὶ παρῆλθαν εἰς βορρᾶν καὶ εἶπαν πρὸς Ιεφθαε διὰ τί παρῆλθες παρατάξασθαι ἐν υἱοῖς Αμμων καὶ ἡμᾶς οὐ κέκληκας πορευθῆναι μετὰ σοῦ τὸν οἶκόν σου ἐμπρήσομεν ἐπὶ σὲ ἐν πυρί καὶ συνήχθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Εφραιμ καὶ ἦλθον εἰς Σεφινα καὶ εἶπον πρὸς Ιεφθαε τί ὅτι ἐπορεύθης πολεμεῖν ἐν τοῖς υἱοῖς Αμμων καὶ ἡμᾶς οὐ κέκληκας πορευθῆναι μετὰ σοῦ τὸν οἶκόν σου ἐμπρήσομεν ἐν πυρί
- 2 καὶ εἶπεν Ιεφθαε πρὸς αὐτούς ἀνὴρ μαχητὴς ἤμην ἐγὼ καὶ ὁ λαός μου καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Αμμων σφόδρα καὶ ἐβόησα ὑμᾶς καὶ οὐκ ἐσώσατέ με ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτῶν καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς Ιεφθαε ἀνὴρ ἀντιδικῶν ἤμην ἐγὼ καὶ ὁ λαός μου καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Αμμων ἐταπείνουν με σφόδρα καὶ ἐβόησα πρὸς ὑμᾶς καὶ οὐκ ἐσώσατέ με ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτῶν
- 3 καὶ εἶδον ὅτι οὐκ εἶ σωτήρ καὶ ἔθηκα τὴν ψυχήν μου ἐν χειρί μου καὶ παρῆλθον πρὸς υἱοὺς Αμμων καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοὺς κύριος ἐν χειρί μου καὶ εἰς τί ἀνέβητε ἐπ’ ἐμὲ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ παρατάξασθαι ἐν ἐμοί καὶ εἶδον ὅτι οὐκ ἦν ὁ σῴζων καὶ ἐθέμην τὴν ψυχήν μου ἐν τῇ χειρί μου καὶ διέβην πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Αμμων καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτοὺς κύριος ἐν χειρί μου καὶ ἵνα τί ἀνέβητε πρός με τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ τοῦ πολεμεῖν ἐν ἐμοί
- 4 καὶ συνέστρεψεν Ιεφθαε τοὺς πάντας ἄνδρας Γαλααδ καὶ παρετάξατο τῷ Εφραιμ καὶ ἐπάταξαν ἄνδρες Γαλααδ τὸν Εφραιμ ὅτι εἶπαν οἱ διασῳζόμενοι τοῦ Εφραιμ ὑμεῖς Γαλααδ ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ Εφραιμ καὶ ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ Μανασση καὶ συνήθροισεν Ιεφθαε πάντας τοὺς ἄνδρας Γαλααδ καὶ ἐπολέμει τὸν Εφραιμ καὶ ἐπάταξαν ἄνδρες Γαλααδ τὸν Εφραιμ ὅτι εἶπαν οἱ διασεσῳσμένοι τοῦ Εφραιμ ὑμεῖς Γαλααδ ἐν μέσῳ Εφραιμ καὶ ἐν μέσῳ Μανασση
- 5 καὶ προκατελάβετο Γαλααδ τὰς διαβάσεις τοῦ Ιορδάνου τοῦ Εφραιμ καὶ εἶπαν αὐτοῖς οἱ διασῳζόμενοι Εφραιμ διαβῶμεν καὶ εἶπαν αὐτοῖς οἱ ἄνδρες Γαλααδ μὴ Εφραθίτης εἶ καὶ εἶπεν οὔ καὶ προκατελάβοντο ἄνδρες Γαλααδ τὰς διαβάσεις τοῦ Ιορδάνου τοῦ Εφραιμ καὶ ἐγενήθη ὅτι εἶπαν οἱ διασεσῳσμένοι τοῦ Εφραιμ διαβῶμεν καὶ εἶπαν αὐτοῖς οἱ ἄνδρες Γαλααδ μὴ ὑμεῖς ἐκ τοῦ Εφραιμ καὶ εἶπαν οὔκ ἐσμεν
- 6 καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ εἰπὸν δὴ στάχυς καὶ οὐ κατεύθυνεν τοῦ λαλῆσαι οὕτως καὶ ἐπελάβοντο αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔθυσαν αὐτὸν πρὸς τὰς διαβάσεις τοῦ Ιορδάνου καὶ ἔπεσαν ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἀπὸ Εφραιμ τεσσαράκοντα δύο χιλιάδες καὶ εἶπαν αὐτοῖς εἴπατε δὴ σύνθημα καὶ οὐ κατηύθυναν τοῦ λαλῆσαι οὕτως καὶ ἐπελάβοντο αὐτῶν καὶ ἔσφαξαν αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ τὰς διαβάσεις τοῦ Ιορδάνου καὶ ἔπεσαν ἐξ Εφραιμ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ δύο τεσσαράκοντα χιλιάδες
- 7 καὶ ἔκρινεν Ιεφθαε τὸν Ισραηλ ἑξήκοντα ἔτη καὶ ἀπέθανεν Ιεφθαε ὁ Γαλααδίτης καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν πόλει αὐτοῦ ἐν Γαλααδ καὶ ἔκρινεν Ιεφθαε τὸν Ισραηλ ἓξ ἔτη καὶ ἀπέθανεν Ιεφθαε ὁ Γαλααδίτης καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν τῇ πόλει αὐτοῦ Γαλααδ
- 8 καὶ ἔκρινεν μετ’ αὐτὸν τὸν Ισραηλ Αβαισαν ἀπὸ Βαιθλεεμ καὶ ἔκρινεν μετ’ αὐτὸν τὸν Ισραηλ Εσεβων ἐκ Βαιθλεεμ
- 9 καὶ ἦσαν αὐτῷ τριάκοντα υἱοὶ καὶ τριάκοντα θυγατέρες ἃς ἐξαπέστειλεν ἔξω καὶ τριάκοντα θυγατέρας εἰσήνεγκεν τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτοῦ ἔξωθεν καὶ ἔκρινεν τὸν Ισραηλ ἑπτὰ ἔτη καὶ ἐγένοντο αὐτῷ τριάκοντα υἱοὶ καὶ τριάκοντα θυγατέρες ἐξαπεσταλμέναι ἔξω καὶ τριάκοντα γυναῖκας εἰσήγαγεν τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτοῦ ἔξωθεν καὶ ἔκρινεν τὸν Ισραηλ ἑπτὰ ἔτη
- 10 καὶ ἀπέθανεν Αβαισαν καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν Βαιθλεεμ καὶ ἀπέθανεν Εσεβων καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν Βηθλεεμ

- 12 καὶ ἀπέθανεν Αιλωμ ὁ Ζαβουλωνίτης καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν Αιλωμ ἐν γῇ Ζαβουλων καὶ ἀπέθανεν Αιλων ὁ Ζαβουλωνίτης ἐν Αιλιμ καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν ἐν γῇ Ζαβουλων
- 13 καὶ ἔκρινεν μετ’ αὐτὸν τὸν Ισραηλ Αβδων υἱὸς Ελληλ ὁ Φαραθωνίτης καὶ ἔκρινεν μετ’ αὐτὸν τὸν Ισραηλ Λαβδων υἱὸς Σελλημ ὁ Φρααθωνίτης

The versification differs slightly from what is defined in canon_lxx.h in the Sword sources.
Some of the noticeable differences are:
- Prayer of Manasseh is found in Odes 12.
- Prayer of Azariah is found at Daniel 3:24.
- No I Enoch
- The book and Ezra and of Nehemiah are part of a second book of Esdras. They are available as Ezra and Nehemiah in this module.
- The book of Proverbs chapter 32 to 36 are available in this module as chapters 25 to 29.
- Some books have less chapter than expected: Esther, Malachi- Encoding: UTF-8

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
