Sirach 35
- 1 Wie de Wet onderhoudt, brengt vele offers; Wie de geboden vervult, een vrede-offer.
- 2 Wie de liefde beoefent, draagt een spijsoffer op; Wie een aalmoes geeft, een offer van dank.
- 3 Een Gode behaaglijk offer is het, de zonde te mijden, En een zoenoffer, zich te onthouden van kwaad.
- 4 Verschijn dus niet met lege handen voor Jahweh; Want dit alles moet geschieden, zoals het is voorgeschreven.
- 5 Het offer van den brave is als vet op het altaar, Als een lieflijke geur voor den Allerhoogste;
- 6 Het offer van een rechtvaardige is welbehaaglijk, En zal voortdurend in herinnering blijven.
- 7 Breng met gulheid Jahweh uw lof, En verminder de eerstelingen uwer handen niet;
- 8 Zet een vrolijk gezicht bij iedere gave, En offer blijmoedig uw tienden.
- 9 Geef aan God, naar gelang Hij u schonk, Met vreugde en naar uw vermogen;
- 10 Want Hij is een God van vergelding, Die u zevenvoudig teruggeeft.
- 11 Tracht niet, Hem om te kopen, want Hij neemt het niet aan, En vertrouw niet op een offer van onrecht;
- 12 Want Hij is een rechtvaardig God, Hij kent geen aanzien des persoons.
- 13 Hij is niet partijdig tegen den arme; Neen, Hij luistert naar het geween der verdrukten.
- 14 Hij wijst het zuchten der wezen niet af, Noch dat van de weduwe, als zij blijft klagen.
- 15 Lopen de tranen haar niet langs de wangen, En getuigt niet haar zuchten tegen wie ze deed stromen?
- 16 Haar klagen zal genade vinden, En haar smeken dringt door de wolken heen.
- 17 Het schreien van den verdrukte dringt door de wolken, En rust niet, voordat het God heeft bereikt;
- 18 Het wijkt niet, totdat de Allerhoogste er op neerziet, En de rechtvaardige Rechter recht heeft verschaft.
- 19 Neen, God zal niet dralen; Als een krijgsheld deinst Hij niet terug,
- 20 Tot Hij den verdrukker de lenden heeft verbrijzeld, En op de volkeren zijn wraak heeft gekoeld;
- 21 Tot Hij de staf der trotsen heeft veroverd, En de schepter der bozen gebroken;
- 22 Tot Hij den mens zijn werk heeft vergolden: Het eigenmachtige doen van de mensen;
- 23 Tot Hij de zaak van zijn volk heeft beslecht, En het heeft verblijd met zijn heil!
- 24 Lieflijk is zijn ontferming ten tijde van druk, Als een onweersbui ten tijde van droogte.

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
